FAQ

The basics

What are mobile proxies?

A mobile proxy routes your traffic through a real cellular connection, so websites see a genuine carrier IP instead of a datacenter address. Every Proxy Tower proxy is a dedicated 5G modem on a real consumer plan from a major US carrier — the same network millions of real phones use.

Why are 5G mobile IPs better than datacenter or residential proxies?

Carrier IPs are shared by thousands of real phones behind carrier-grade NAT, so blocking one would block real customers. That gives mobile IPs the highest trust score and the lowest block rate of any proxy type. Datacenter ranges are trivially fingerprinted, and residential ISP addresses sit somewhere in between.

Are the proxies dedicated or shared?

Each plan is one dedicated 5G device that's yours for the duration of the pass. You're not sharing a rotating pool — the device is bound to your account until the plan ends.

FAQ

Connecting & rotation

Should I connect over HTTP or SOCKS5?

Both are supported with standard username and password authentication. SOCKS5 is the best default for scrapers, bots, and command-line tools. HTTP proxying is what browsers and extensions expect — our Chrome extension uses it because Chrome cannot authenticate SOCKS5 natively. Either way it's the same device and the same IP.

How does IP rotation work?

Your proxy is bound to a dedicated device, so your IP stays the same until you change it. Rotate with one click in the dashboard, on a schedule from every minute up to hourly, from the API, or by hitting a private rotate URL. The device re-establishes a new cellular connection and you get a fresh carrier IP in seconds.

Can I keep the same IP for a while (sticky sessions)?

Yes. Because each proxy is a dedicated device, the IP holds until you rotate it — so you can keep one session alive for hours or days. Rotate only when you want a fresh identity.

Can I control the device fingerprint?

Yes. Each proxy can reshape its TCP/IP fingerprint to present as iOS, Android, or Linux, so the network-level signature of your connection matches the device you're emulating instead of giving you away. Set it per proxy from the dashboard — it applies live, with no change to your endpoint or credentials.

FAQ

Locations & auth

Can I pick the city and carrier?

Yes. Every plan unlocks the whole fleet: choose any live US city and any carrier online there — Verizon or T-Mobile — and switch as often as you like at no extra cost, without changing your endpoint or credentials.

How do I authenticate — password or IP?

Both. Use a username and password (you can set your own), or authenticate by IP whitelist — add the addresses you connect from and trusted machines connect with no credentials at all.

Do you offer an API?

Yes. Provision, rotate, and relocate proxies programmatically, and assign proxies to sub-accounts. The API lets you build the fleet directly into your own stack.

FAQ

Plans, payment & trial

How does the free trial work?

Create an account, verify your email address, and you get a free 1-hour mobile proxy — no credit card required. It's a full-featured proxy: pick a city, rotate the IP, and connect over HTTP or SOCKS5 just like a paid plan.

What payment methods do you accept?

Credit and debit cards — prepaid cards welcome — plus cryptocurrency: USDT (TRC-20) and TRX on the Tron network, and native Bitcoin and Litecoin. You can also top up an account balance and pay from it.

How does billing work? Do plans auto-renew?

Plans are flat-rate passes for a fixed duration — a few hours, a day, a week, or a month — with one dedicated device per plan. Nothing renews unless you explicitly enable auto-renew on a proxy.

Is there a bandwidth or per-GB charge?

No. Plans are unmetered — the flat price covers the full duration of the pass with no usage-based surprises.

What if something isn't working?

Contact support@proxytower.io and we'll make it right. If a proxy isn't performing, we want you moved onto one that works.

Still curious? Try it free for an hour
